The Lionel Santa Fe Observation Car No. 2416 was available from 1959 until 1963. The car body and roof are painted SILVER and it has a BLUE painted body stripe that runs through the windows and BLUE heat-stamped lettering. This car is lighted by two lamps that are held in place by metal brackets that are also used to hold the roof to the body. There are people silhouettes on the interior window inserts. It came with Type IV die-cast four-wheel passenger trucks equipped with one magnetic coupler. There are no variations.
Lionel issued this passenger car for use on O27 Gauge track, but it will operate equally well on the larger radius curves of O Gauge track.
