Introduced in 1992 and built through 2004, this later “modified” (as noted by the “M” in the model designation) version of the EMD SD70, was equipped with a wide nose and North American Safety Cab. Based on the Phase I version our layout-ready models feature:

PLEASE NOTE: When operating Walthers-branded DCC-equipped locomotives in DC mode, do not use power packs that exceed an 18V rating. This includes MRC 1300-series power packs which have known issues with our decoders.
