Here is a Lionel 19811 Monon Operating Brakeman Car from 1990. Strips of rope called tell-tales were used to warn a distracted brakeman of an oncoming tunnel or low bridge. When the brakeman felt the tell-tales, he knew that it was time to hit the deck, just like the brakeman on this Monon boxcar. There are two trips and tell-tales included, when the car goes over the first one the man lays down on the roof and when it goes over the second one he stands back up. This car features sliding doors, die-cast metal sprung trucks, die-cast metal operating knuckle couplers, and metal wheels and axles. The car is 10.5 inches long.
